Mid-market spot prices for information only, not an offer to buy or sell. Banks, exchange houses, gold shops and crypto platforms add their own margins. “Since midnight” compares with the first price after midnight UAE time. Data: Coinbase, Gold API, Yahoo Finance and CoinPaprika.
What is a spot price?
The spot price is what something is worth right now, for immediate delivery. It is the price traders use, before any shop margin, making charge or fee. Gold and silver are quoted per troy ounce (31.1 grams), copper per pound, oil per barrel and natural gas per million British thermal units (MMBtu).
Why dirhams follow the dollar
The UAE dirham is pegged at AED 3.6725 to one US dollar, so commodity and crypto prices in dirhams move exactly with their dollar price. Against other currencies the dirham rises and falls with the dollar.
